A seaside taverna on Zakynthos’ most protected beach, facing the Gulf of Laganas and the islet of Pelouzo.
Petalida keeps things simple: fresh fish and seafood, straight off the boats of Vasilikos, prepared without unnecessary fuss. Mussels, octopus, and the day’s catch share the menu with classic Greek dishes — the kind of food that lets good ingredients speak for themselves.
Our tables sit right on the sand at Dafni Beach, so lunch here comes with sea air, dappled shade, and views across the Gulf of Laganas as a given. Whether you’re stopping by for a lazy seafood lunch, fresh cocktails at the bar, or dinner as the day winds down,
Petalida is built around one idea: good food tastes better with your feet nearly in the water.
Fresh ingredients, cooked the honest way — every day
Rocket, capers, cherry tomatoes, fennel and oregano — a cold plate that tastes like the Ionian itself.
Plump shrimp in tomato sauce with feta and a splash of ouzo. Bold, briny, unmistakably Greek.
Slow-grilled over open fire, finished with tomato, capers, olives and fresh onion. A classic done right.
Char-grilled to order, served with baby potatoes, grilled vegetables and chimichurri sauce.
Clams, leek, celery, tarragon and quince — tossed together the traditional way.
A bright, citrus finish to a seaside lunch. Made in-house, the way it should be.
Dafni Beach is part of the Zakynthos National Marine Park — one of the few stretches of coastline on the island where nature still sets the rules.
There are no crowds, no water sports, no loud music. From May to August, endangered Caretta Caretta sea turtles come ashore here to nest, and everything around the bay moves at their pace.
The reward is a beach unlike any other in Zakynthos: fine golden sand, some of the warmest waters on the island, and an open view across the Gulf of Laganas to the small islet of Pelouzo. At Petalida, we sit right at the edge of it — sunbeds by the shore, a kitchen built around what the sea gives us that day, and a quiet that’s genuinely hard to find anywhere else on the island.
Whether you’re booking a table, asking about sunbeds, or just need directions down the dirt road — we’re happy to help. Give us a call or send a message, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
More from the kitchen, the beach, and everything in between

Very nice locationPosted on Google Simonetta RossiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Beautiful taverna on the beach, delicious food, good service. If you pay for the umbrella and sunbeds, there is part of the money you can spend on food (€25+€25 or €30+€30).
